Robin B Anderson MEd LMT BCTMB CEAS began her career as a massage therapist in 2007 and has worked in a wide variety of practice settings including day spas, fitness clubs, medical offices, occupational health clinics, and others. She is board certified, has a certificate in manual lymphatic drainage (Vodder technique), and maintains a small private practice in a local plastic surgeon's office specializing in post-operative recovery with manual lymphatic drainage techniques. Robin has been a massage therapy educator for much of her career, including curriculum development for online learning. She holds a Master of Education degree in Adult Education and Training from Colorado State University and has published research on teaching methods using ergonomics tools for improving body mechanics in massage therapy students. She has a passion for research and has been involved with the Massage Therapy Foundation since the beginning of her career. She is a past recipient of the Bronze Award in the Student Case Report Contest for using massage as a conjunctive treatment for rheumatoid arthritis and in a subsequent year received an Honorable Mention in the past Practitioner Case Report Contest for the effects of massage on Parkinsonian-related edema. She has served as a committee volunteer, project chair, trustee, and executive roles with the Board, including President. Robin is a frequent presenter at professional conferences in the realms of adult education, massage approaches and applications, teaching methods, interprofessional collaboration, and ergonomics. David is the author of a number of articles published in the column Essentials of Assessment in Massage Therapy Canada. He also writes an occasional column for the same journal, called The Learning Curve, in which he discusses issues and trends in massage therapy education. David teaches seminars for practising massage therapists across Canada, as well as sustaining a busy clinical practice.
